What You Should Look for in a Standard vs. Automatic Transmission Vehicle? When it comes to buying a car, it can be so difficult to find the right brand, find the right color and definitely choose whether you want an automatic or if you want a manual. There are so many different things to consider and one of the most important is going to be a standard versus an automatic transmission. It is pretty obvious in this day and age that everyone is usually opting for an automatic transmission, but did you know that manual cars are generally lower in price? On average, most manual cars and trucks are about one thousand dollars less than automatic cars and trucks and in this economy, every penny counts, especially that many! Also, manual transmissions when it comes to maintenance and repairs costs trump the automatic as well! So you are probably wondering why all of these years, you have been wasting your time and money on an automatic car or truck in the first place! Well, there is a reason for that. Automatic cars and trucks are extremely easy to drive. You do not have to worry about having two hands free all of the time, but all you need to worry about really is keeping hold of the steering wheel. When you are dealing with a manual car, you really need to pay attention to the road, be able to switch gears quickly and have both hands free at all times so you can have one on the gear and one on the wheel. You also need to learn an entirely new way to drive that involves three peddles instead of just one. Relearning how to drive and having to switch gears all of the time are some of the main reasons why automatic cars are some of the most popular, but if you are looking for a faster car, a race car for example, you will definitely not find an automatic one of those! Automatic cars are known for their slowness simply because you are not the one changing the gears; the car is doing that automatically. Most of the time, the faster cars are going to have a stick in it and you will have to switch gears yourself, which just takes some getting used to! While it may seem like the manual transmission is the one to go for, it really just depends on your tastes. If you are the type of person that is looking to have to concentrate on the road and switching gears all of the time, not to mention having to drive with your left foot, you may want to switch on over to a manual car. If you are the type of person that likes to lounge back a little bit in the car and while still pay attention to the road, not have to worry about switching gears all of the time, then an automatic transmission would probably be the best option for you! As you can see, there are many different things that you will need to consider when you are looking for a car and you should definitely test drive both a manual as well as an automatic so you can get a feel for both cars when you are purchasing yours. Just remember, it is all about you when you are purchasing a car! You need to get what you like and what you want, which includes the right color, the right brand and of course whether you are going to get a stick or an automatic! No matter the differences, it all boils down to what you like and what you want to spend your money on. |
